I meet Tim up at Hyak and we rolled down to Exit 47 and were moving on the snow covered road around 8:30am. Lack of snowpack made skinning through the trees tricky, but we reached the Iron Horse Trail and the snowshed without incident.

The ascent up Humpback was straightforward, although we both opted to wear our ski crampons as the snow conditions were truly variable, with many pockets of frozen snow interspersed among the wind blow and recycled powder.

About 100 feet below the NE summit we snagged a nice line which was filled with about a foot of loose wind blown snow. Conditions down the rest of the slope varied, but it is a nice consistent fall line, with over 2,000ft of continuous skiing. Then we made our way back through the trees and down to the car.
