Red Mountain

Getting a late start, we made our way through the Commonwealth with a couple of other groups trailing. After following up the skin track to the bench below the face of Red, we ran into a group from Pro Guiding Service just starting to head up towards Lundin. There was a group of two ahead of us making their way up Red, and we followed their skin track. They eventually switched to boot packing half way up, and after laying the skin track and experiencing the difficulty of getting an edge (should have brought my ski crampons...), we soon followed suit.
The ski down was nice. There were variable conditions, and I didn't feel like I could really open it up. But all in all, it was pretty nice, especially at the very bottom where the blower pow in the trees was to be found. We opted to do a mini skin up to hit the pow again, and then jumped on the highway for a quick exit out of the Commonwealth.
