The North Cascades has a birthday tour, and now Snoqualmie Pass has one. Trevor persuaded me for an attempt on Alta for his birthday and after a headlamp start at Gold Creek, and a long boot traverse across Alta Ridge, we were standing at the Summit, trying to catch a glimpse through the clouds of the descent down the North Face. Finally, we locked in, and cautiously started making our way down, and lucked into a aesthetic line. We descended below the clouds and with good visibility were able to get some great turns.
