Hidden Lake Peaks

The drive in on the forest service road was a mixture of anticipation and nervousness. Would there be enough snow for a decent tour? Were nice pow turns in my future? Coverage was decent as we followed the summer hiking trail, but once under the coverage of the forest, the base depth was minimal. Our spirits were lifted as we exited the forest and laid eyes on the well portioned slope in front of us. Trevor did most of the trail breaking, with Emily and I occasionally taking tuns (breaking trail hurts my knee, I swear...). Obscured views of Johannesburg and Cascade Pass, coupled with the cold, made our time at the top short. The descent was excellent, with a little wind effected snow at the top, but consistent powder a the rest of the way down. Exiting back through the forest wasn't much fun, but it was well worth it!
